Les Pieds sur Terre (Valentin Morel)
Les Pieds sur Terre is the domain name of Valentine Morel, who after studying international law and politics, decided to return to his family’s estate in Poligny, Jura to make wine. After making his decision, Morel learned from winemakers such as Pierre Frick and Bruno Schueller in Alsace, before taking over the family domain from his father Jean-Luc Morel in 2014. Morel introduced a holistic approach to the estate, as he is greatly influenced by the writings of Rudolf Steiner.
Valentin farms around 5 plots spread over about 6 hectares of vineyards in Poligny, where you will find all of the main Jura grape varieties: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir, Trousseau, Poulsard - but, he is also now working with several new hybrid varieties which are more resistant to disease and fungus.
