This Imperial of Mechthild comes in its own wooden box, which requires it to be shipped by itself. Therefore the shipping fee is already included in the price and you won't be charged additionally at checkout.*

All bottles come in this nice wooden box. We will ship it with extra securing IN this box and the wooden box will be surrounded in lots of packaging. It is of course insured with the shipping. We are offering ONE bottle of each wine in each size and once orders are completed at the end of March.

Mechthild by Gut Oggau comes from an approximately 60 year old plantation planted with Grüner Veltliner on lime and slate soil. This elegant lady is very kind, but also polarizing, sometimes strange and always profound. She does her best to continue to rest on the bottle to show her expressive character.
The berries are pressed in a 200-year-old wooden press and, like all wines from Gut Oggau, are bottled unembellished, unfiltered and without the addition of sulphur. The maturation takes place for about 2 years in used 500 litre barrels on the full yeast.

The head of the family and mother of the Gut Oggau vineyard. A resolute and strong elderly lady, who continues to guide the fortunes of the Burgenland clan and defies all of life’s trials and tribulations like a gnarled oak in a storm.
Mechthild always has a ready ear, but constantly adheres to her principles. She is the “kind-hearted grandmother” of nostalgia that one trusts, but she can also be secretive and polarize opinion.
