The Gut Oggau 2016 vintage was probably the most challenging in the winery's then short history. Spring frosts and hail in the summer plagued the vines, meaning less than 40% of the harvest remained!
ONE PER ORDER
However, autumn was forgiving and delivered top quality, but not enough to bottle the individual family members individually...
So Stephi and Eduard had to let go and blend the remaining wines. Few companies act with this consequence.
The Gut Oggau Weiß is a blend of the aromatic Emeram (Gewürztraminer), the profound Mechthild (Grüner Veltliner), Timotheus (Grüner Veltliner + Pinot Blanc) and the light-footed, cheeky Theodora (Grüner Veltliner + Welschriesling).
Pure, elegant, with a beautiful melt that presents itself as clear as a bell and with a seductive aroma. Family has to stick together and in this case it does that in the best possible way.
Note: This is a special release and the price we buy this wine for now has risen quite substantially since it was released many years ago. This is a domaine-held back release of the last reserves of this 2016 bottle, released after 7 years which is the full Holistic cycle as proposed by Rudolf Steiner, and as such, the price it costs from the domaine is more expensive, and we expect great things! A wine for serious Gut Oggau lovers and collecters
