Laissez-Faire is a super saline (salty), mineralic and herbal riesling that will blow your socks off with its finesse, complexity and balance. So fresh, yet also a little creamy, like a Muscadet. It’s its non mineralic elements, expect pops of juniper and green apple hits.
A vibrant, energetic bomb that opens the world of riesling to a new dimension . A masterpiece. Decant for 30 minutes for best results.
Winemaker Notes
Single vineyard, single barrel. Riesling from a picturesque steep site slope with a view on the whole world. With a high density of up to 9000 plants per hectare, in this vineyard at around 300m above sea level the vines root in brittle schist which slowly transforms into
hard limestone mixed with quartz towards the lower part of the vineyard. This particular formation of the soil, combined with an incredibly cool microclimate, creates a wine of high delicacy. Together with his friends, Christian works this precious soil carefully by horse.
Grapes: 100% Riesling
Vineyard: Single vineyard in high density planting, Steep schist slope, with dense
limestone and quartz towards the bottom
Making of: Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed with the power of a
handshake. Fermentation and ageing in big barrel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered,
without added sulfur.
