Primitivo 2020 is a natural wine crafted by l'Archetipo , in the Puglia region in Italy.
This 14% red wine is made with Primitivo grapes, grown on 20 year old vines on red Mediterranean soil very rich of siliceous-cal-careous fine gravel (up to a depth of 6 meters), and a clay-limestone soil (for the following 2 meters depth); with very rich of humus on top. This more classic style, low intervention wine sees 20/30 days on the skins.
18 months in steel tank (in which malolactic fermentation take place), then 18 months in large wooden barrel.Last 6 months in bottle. Low amount of sulphur dioxide added before bottling.
We have not yet tried this wine, but Archetipo state that it has an intense ruby red colour, fruity, grassy and spicy aromas; tannic, quite soft, very persistent, quite tasty and fresh taste. Would work well with soft and hard cheeses, roasted meat or wild game
