SW 2017 Vino Dulce is a natural wine crafted by Partida Creus, in the Catalonia region in Spain. This sweet wine is made with 100% Bobal grapes, which are harvested late from a vineyard in nearby Manchuela.
Partida Creus make sweet wine too?
Here, Massimo and Antonella have made a sweet wine from the 2017 vintage, in a cute 50cl bottle. The late harvest means the grapes have more sugar, which overpowers the yeast resulting in a sweet flavour as the yeasts cannot eat all the sugar. The grapes are fermented and macerated in a mixture of barrel and steel and we hear this sweet wine keeps high acidity and features and oxidative touch, similar to sherry.
We have not yet tried it, but imagine its absolutely wonderful, especially with a chocolate dessert or cheeseboard
