Disko is a natural wine crafted by Casa Cantina, actually one half of Australian producer UnPo, made in the hills of Pisa in the Tuscany region in Italy. This 12% orange wine is made with 100% Trebbiano grapes, which saw slight oxidation periods during fermentation.

WE LOVE THIS WINE. Its scrumptious, with a slightly longer finish than it's little brother and has a little more tannin. Expect hits of vanilla, stewed apricots, caramel, herbs, angostora bitters and some blood orange! Would work a treat with spicy food. Decant for even better results and don't serve tooooooo chilled.

WHAT IS ORANGE WINE?

Orange wines are actually white wines, but with a different winemaking process - they’re made by fermenting the juice with the grape skins, which is mostly done with red wines, not white. This extra step adds tannins, flavor, and a unique color to the wine.
Because of the skin contact, orange wines tend to have more herbal, aromatic notes, and they can also have a bit of bitterness depending on the grape, how long the skins are left in contact with the juice, and the vessel used for maturation. Unlike most white wines, they can also feature tannins (which are formed from the skins, which white wines do not use). Orange wines are a style that brings out some really interesting flavors that many people adore for their unique properties, whether easy going or complex.
